Q.) In my staff position, there are many benefits such as retirement, continuing education, etc. What does Sunbelt offer?

We understand that you need the benefits associated with staff positions and we have worked hard to give you just that. In addition to health insurance that includes, dental, vision, prescriptions and group life, we also offer a 401K with enrollment after 3 months, and reimbursement of continuing education.

Q.) What about pay? How much, when and how?

Even though we work aggressively on your behalf to get the highest possible hourly rate, there are several factors that will affect it. Those factors include experience, specialty, location, shift, flexibility, and length of assignment. Your hourly rate is also determined by what non-wage benefits you choose such as health insurance, housing, travel reimbursement, etc. We feel, however, that we have the “Best Total Compensation Package” available.

You will be paid weekly by the method of your choice. Sunbelt offers direct deposit, overnight delivery, regular mail to the address for your choice, or our new VIP card.

Q.) How are my taxes handled?

Sunbelt handles all the standard payroll taxes as well as any state taxes that apply. Please be aware that you will be required to pay state income, if applicable, to the state in which you work. For example: if you live in Tennessee, which has no state income tax, but work in North Carolina, which does, you will pay North Carolina state income tax. The states that do not have state income tax are Alaska, Florida, Nevada, New Hampshire, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Washington, and Wyoming.

Q.) Does Sunbelt offer bonuses?

Sunbelt can bonus you in several different ways such as our Referral Program, SNAP Program, and “Let’s Get It Done”. Of course, hospitals occasionally offer completion bonuses that are paid on your last paycheck.

Q.) Suppose I do not need health insurance. What are my options?

If you have independent health insurance coverage that you are happy with, you may opt for a subsidy of up to $250 per month.

Q.) I will need housing on this assignment. How does that work?

Sunbelt has an outstanding Housing Department; this is all they do – they find housing for our healthcare professionals like you. Once our housing department has been notified of your assignment, they will give you a call within 24 hours. Sunbelt provides a furnished one-bedroom apartment. They will ask you your preferences (1st floor, 2nd floor, washer/dryer, do you have a pet, etc.), these all come into play when they are searching for your home away from home. Most assignments start on a Monday so you will be allowed to move into the apartment the Friday prior to your 1st day of your assignment. Sunbelt has a great housing department and they will always look for the best housing, best location and, of course, safety – you are #1 with Sunbelt.

Q.) What if I want to find my own housing? Is there a housing allowance?

If you do not need housing for your travel assignment or just want to find your own, Sunbelt offers a non-taxed housing subsidy provided you work more than 50 miles away from your permanent residence. The amount of the subsidy will vary based on location of the assignment.

Q.) Is there a cost for bringing my family or pets with me?

You may bring your family with you but keep in mind that Sunbelt provides a one bedroom, one bath furnished apartment for the traveler. If you will require something larger, you will be responsible for the additional cost. Should you have pets, you will be responsible for any pet deposits and/or monthly pet fees. If this presents a problem, call your Recruiter or Coordinator for help.

Q.) Who pays for my travel expenses?

Sunbelt reimburses travel expenses to your assignment. The amount of travel will vary based on the distance traveled.
